Over the next couple of weeks SubScribe will be looking in some detail at the national daily front pages of 2014. And to kick off the exercise, we'd like you to vote for your favourite page 1 of the year.
It may be one built around a significant or dramatic story, a fabulous picture, a smart headline. There is no one essential element. We're looking for the page that made you pause - whether to admire, condemn or merely to think slightly differently.
To set the ball rolling, here is a collection of SubScribe favourites. You may choose something that isn't here - with two caveats. The first is that the splash needs to have been valid at the time (even if subsequently proved wrong). The second is a personal prejudice: no page showing the masked Isis killer standing over a hostage in orange robes will be considered (if you disagree strongly with this, then please post a comment).
All the year's front pages should be visible from the backnumbers section on the navigation menu on the left. You can vote for up to five papers.
If you do wish to nominate a different paper, please could you also note it as a comment. This is the first time SubScribe has attempted a poll and it seems someone has already voted for a paper not shown below, but the results don't tell us what it was!
You don't have to be a journalist to have an opinion, so please encourage all your friends, family and colleagues to cast their votes. Thank you.
